“Living cross-culturally can be very draining, especially when you also have a family to look after. Catherine Shelton writes out of her own experience of living for eleven years with her family in a remote part of Russia. In this book she guides you through issues such as language and culture acquisition, socialising your kids, maintaining your sanity and, eventually, packing up and re-entering your home country. As Catherine tells her story and shares her survival tips, you’ll find yourself encouraged and better equipped to live your life overseas more joyfully and more successfully.”
What people are saying:
(5 stars) Living overseas in this century has many aspects which need preparation and many aspects to be faced when you get there, and Catherine writes from personal experience very helpfully. It is also helpful for us left at home to know how to support and pray for them to read of her experiences.
(5 stars) I really enjoyed reading this book. Not only did it deal with the practical side of living in a foreign country but it also dealt with the emotional problems one might face in that situation. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is planning to move abroad or who is already living in a different culture.
